Operating Instructions

1. Removing the Cap

The cap features a quick-open fin for one-hand operation. Hold the handle firmly and use your thumb to push the quick-open fin on the cap, disengaging it from the detent, then slide the cap off along the blade axis. Alternatively, hold the handle with one hand and pull the cap steadily off with the other hand along the blade axis. Do not twist the cap side to side during removal, and always keep your fingers away from the blade edge.

The cap uses a raised detent that locks into a groove on the back of the blade head, reducing the risk of accidental detachment during everyday carry.

2. Installing the Cap

Make sure the blade is securely locked and the inside of the cap is free of debris. Align the cap with the blade head and push it slowly along the blade axis. When the cap's detent seats into the groove on the back of the blade head and you hear a clear "click," the cap is fully installed.

After installation, gently pull the cap to confirm it is locked. If the cap does not stay engaged reliably, realign and reinstall. Do not force it or carry the knife if the cap is loose.

3. Replacing the Blade

The Qinglin knife is compatible with standard No. 11 surgical blades. To replace the blade:

1. Remove the cap, hold the handle firmly, and keep your fingers and body away from the blade edge and its removal/installation path.
2. Flip the lever on the handle to the unlocked position.
3. Hold the old blade only by its unsharpened mounting end and slide it slowly off the mounting structure.
4. Install a new No. 11 surgical blade onto the blade head in the correct orientation, making sure it is fully seated.
5. Flip the lever back to the locked position to secure the blade.
6. Gently check the blade for looseness or misalignment. Once you confirm it is securely locked, reinstall the cap.

We recommend wearing cut-resistant gloves and using tweezers or pliers when replacing the blade. Do not use the knife if the lever will not reset or the blade does not lock securely.

4. Proper Cutting

This product is intended for opening packages, cutting paper, model trimming, and other light precision cutting. Hold the handle firmly and guide the blade smoothly through the material, keeping your other hand clear of the cutting path.

The No. 11 surgical blade has a fine, sharp tip and is not suitable for prying, twisting, chopping, or lateral force. Do not use this product as a screwdriver, chisel, or pry bar.

5. Pocket Clip and Lanyard Hole

Only after the cap clicks into place and is securely locked should you use the tail clip to attach the knife to a pocket, gear bag, or other suitable location. The lanyard hole at the tail is for installing a properly sized lanyard.

Before carrying, check that the clip is not loose, the lanyard is not worn, and the cap cannot be pushed open or snagged by surrounding objects.

6. Tritium Tube Slot

The handle features a tritium tube slot. If you ordered the tritium tube option, Titaner will install it by default; versions purchased without this option do not include a tritium tube.

If you install it yourself, verify that the tritium tube size matches the slot and use an appropriate fixing method. Do not strike, squeeze, bend, or heat the tritium tube during installation, and never force in parts that do not fit.

Maintenance & Care

GR5 Titanium Handle, Cap, and Pocket Clip

After everyday use, wipe off fingerprints and dust with a soft dry cloth. If the knife is exposed to sweat, rain, or salt, clean it with a slightly damp soft cloth and dry it immediately. Do not use steel wool, coarse abrasives, or highly corrosive cleaners, as they may damage the surface finish.

No. 11 Surgical Blade

Surgical blades are consumables. After each use, promptly remove adhesive residue, debris, and moisture. Replace the blade immediately if it becomes dull, rusted, chipped, bent, or if the tip is damaged. Do not attempt to sharpen deformed or damaged blades.

Lever and Blade Locking Mechanism

Periodically inspect the lever travel and the blade mounting slot, and remove any debris such as paper bits, adhesive residue, or grit. If the lever becomes sticky, clean it with a soft brush with the blade removed. Do not force the lever, disassemble the knife, or apply excessive lubricant.

Cap Detent

Keep the detent on the inside of the cap and the groove on the back of the blade head clean. If debris accumulates, the cap may not seat fully. If the detent shows visible wear or deformation, or if the cap no longer provides a reliable locking click after installation, stop carrying the knife and contact after-sales support.

Pocket Clip, Lanyard Hole, and Tritium Tube

Periodically check that the pocket clip and its attachment point are not loose. Avoid repeatedly over-flexing the clip, so it maintains its tension. Do not scratch the installed tritium tube with sharp or hard objects.

Safety Warnings

No. 11 surgical blades and their tips are extremely sharp. During use, blade replacement, cleaning, and storage, always keep your fingers and body away from the cutting edge and its direction of movement.
Before each use, make sure the lever is back in the locked position and verify that the blade is not loose, misaligned, or deformed.
Reinstall the cap immediately after use, and confirm the detent clicks into place and the cap cannot be easily pulled off.
Dispose of used blades in a designated sharps container, or wrap them securely in sturdy material and dispose of them in accordance with local regulations. Never throw exposed blades into regular trash.
This product is intended for light precision cutting only. Do not pry, chop, twist, or use the blade for any purpose beyond its intended design.
When carrying or transporting this product, comply with all local laws, regulations, and public place rules regarding knives and surgical blades.
Tritium tubes are sealed luminous components that may be subject to regulation. Comply with local regulations regarding purchase, installation, carrying, and disposal.
If a tritium tube breaks, do not touch the fragments with bare hands. Move away from the damaged unit immediately, keep the area ventilated, and avoid inhaling or ingesting debris. Dispose of it properly in accordance with local regulations.
Lanyards pose a strangulation risk. Do not wear them around the neck.
Keep this product, spare blades, and other small parts out of the reach of children and pets.

Safety Warnings

The GR5 titanium handle, cap, and pocket clip of this product are covered by a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use conditions.

The following situations are not covered by the free warranty:

1. The No. 11 surgical blade is a consumable item — dulling, corrosion, chipping, bending, broken tips, and normal wear and tear are excluded.
2. Structural deformation or damage caused by prying, striking, or any other operation beyond the intended use of the product.
3. Normal wear, scratches, and color changes on the cap detent, pocket clip, and surface finish resulting from long-term use.
4. Loss of the cap, spare blades, tritium tube, lanyard, or other parts due to improper storage or handling.

Lifetime Warranty

The GR5 titanium body structure of this product is covered by a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use conditions.

The following conditions are not covered by the free warranty:

1. Normal wear and aging of consumable parts such as the rubber O-ring and lanyard.

2. Damage to the PMMA reading window caused by scratches, solvents, compression, drops, or high temperatures.

3. Deformation, scale damage, and indexing mechanism failure caused by drops, impacts, forced disassembly, or improper use.

4. Normal wear, patina development, and color changes on the bead-blasted surface, laser markings, and optional leather case during use.

5. Result deviations arising from using everyday estimation readings in scenarios requiring professional measurement.
