Operating Instructions

1. Identifying the Locking Level

Matrix series model names consist of a series designation, a security level, and a year. The number indicates the locking mechanism level:

  • Level 1 – Quick Access: Press to release; the mechanism automatically springs back to lock when released. Designed for simple operation.

  • Level 2 – Active Protection: Adds a toggle safety switch on top of the auto-lock function to prevent accidental release by pressing.

  • Level 3 – Continuous Locking: Retains the protection of the previous two levels and uses an additional structure to lock the release button in place. Suitable for carry scenarios where accidental opening is a greater concern.

The L1 is the version in the series that uses a conventional spring; it does not feature the magnetic spring or multi-stage locking structure. For other specific configurations, please refer to the actual model and product structure.

2. Attaching to a Belt Loop, Backpack, or Anchor Point

Make sure the safety switch is in the unlocked position. Press the release to open the hook, fit the body onto a secure attachment point of suitable size, then release. Confirm that the mechanism has fully reset, and gently pull the body to verify it is securely closed.

For Level 2 or Level 3 models, move the safety switch to the locked position after attachment. To detach, first disengage the additional safety lock, then press the release mechanism. Do not force-press or pry the hook while the additional lock is still engaged.

3. Installing Keys

Each version comes standard with a 32 mm stainless steel quick-release key ring. Gently pry open the ring at the dedicated opening just enough to slide the key hole in, then release, and work the ring around until the key is fully seated. After installation, check that the key ring has sprung completely closed and the key is secure.

4. Magnetic Spring and Three-Axis Locking

Models equipped with a magnetic spring use neodymium magnet repulsion for smooth snap-back feedback. When closed, the XYZ three-axis locking structure simultaneously constrains lateral, longitudinal, and front-back movement. No internal adjustment is required for daily use — simply ensure the release component has fully returned and no foreign matter is obstructing it.

5. Tritium Vial Slot (N Series Only)

N series variants feature dedicated tritium vial slots for improved visibility in low-light conditions. The tritium vial is generally not included with the product. Purchasing, installation, carrying, and disposal of tritium vials must comply with local regulations. Do not force-install a vial that has not been verified for compatibility.

Maintenance & Care

GR5 Titanium Body

Wipe with a soft dry cloth for daily care. After exposure to sweat, rain, or seawater, rinse away the salt with clean water and dry immediately. Both the micro-blasted and MAO black versions should be kept away from steel wool, abrasives, and hard scraping objects.

Release, Locking, and Snap-Back Mechanism

  • Regularly inspect the opening, button, safety switch, and three-axis contact surfaces for sand, lint, or dirt.

  • For magnetic spring versions, promptly remove any iron filings attracted by the magnets to avoid affecting reset and locking performance.

  • For the L1 conventional spring version, stop using the product and contact after-sales support if snap-back noticeably weakens, sticks, or deforms.

  • Do not over-lubricate the mechanism — oil attracts dust and may interfere with locking. Do not disassemble or adjust the internal structure yourself.

32 mm Stainless Steel Key Ring

Periodically check the key ring opening for deformation or failure to close completely. Avoid repeatedly over-spreading it. If cracks, obvious deformation, or loss of elasticity are found, replace it promptly.

Surface and Magnetic Components

Avoid prolonged exposure to high temperatures or direct contact with strong magnets and highly corrosive chemicals. Light polishing, scratches, or color changes on the MAO and micro-blasted surfaces during normal use are expected wear characteristics.

Safety Warnings

  • This product is intended solely for everyday carrying of keys and light personal items. Do not use it for climbing, fall protection, towing, suspension, load-bearing, or any life-safety purpose.

  • Extreme force demonstrations in promotional materials are intended only to showcase material and structural capabilities. Do not imitate destructive or dangerous tests.

  • Before each carry, check that the hook, release button, safety switch, and key ring are fully closed. If any component shows cracks, deformation, sticking, or failure to lock, stop using it immediately.

  • Magnetic versions should be kept away from medical devices such as pacemakers, as well as mechanical watches, magnetic stripe cards, and other magnetic-sensitive items.

  • When quick-releasing, support the keys or attached items to prevent them from dropping, swinging, or striking others.

  • Tritium vials are regulated items. If a vial breaks, do not touch it directly. Keep the area ventilated and dispose of it in accordance with local regulations.

  • Keep this product and small accessories out of reach of children.

Lifetime Warranty

The GR5 titanium body structure of this product is covered by a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal everyday carry conditions.

The following conditions are not covered by the free warranty:

  1. Normal wear and elasticity changes of the 32 mm key ring, conventional spring, and other moving parts from long-term use.

  2. Deformation, breakage, or lock failure caused by climbing, hanging, towing, overloading, impacts, or destructive testing.

  3. Jamming and wear caused by iron filings, sand, dirt, or improper maintenance entering the mechanism.

  4. Normal scratches, wear, and color changes on micro-blasted, MAO, or other surface finishes during use.

  5. Damage caused by user disassembly, modification, or installation of non-compliant tritium vials.

  6. Loss of or collateral damage to keys and other belongings attached to the product.
