What made us start paying attention to tableware?
It wasn’t the materials that got us thinking about tableware—it was the way people’s approach to eating is fundamentally changing.
Not too long ago, meals were mostly about filling our stomachs. But today, more and more people see food as a form of self-care—even self-healing. The idea of “Food as Medicine” is making a strong comeback. And it’s not just a trendy phrase—it reflects a real shift happening in family kitchens everywhere.
As more households take control of their diets, we’re seeing big results: between 1998 and 2023, the number of foodborne illness outbreaks in the U.S. steadily declined, especially after 2020 (see Figure 1).
Food is no longer just background noise in our daily lives—it’s becoming a powerful tool to shape our health. In fact, studies show that over 60% of American consumers would rather change what they eat than rely on medication.
Turns out, the road to feeling better might just start with what’s on your plate—and maybe even the plate itself.

Figure 1
At the same time, the global personalized nutrition market is booming—it's quickly becoming one of the most exciting frontiers in health and wellness tech (see Figure 2).
From smart meal plans to DNA-based diets, it's all about helping families eat in ways that truly work for their bodies and lifestyles.

People are no longer satisfied with one-size-fits-all health advice. More and more, they want personalized eating plans—tailored to their genes, their lifestyle, and their individual goals. And with that shift, every detail related to food is being reimagined—including tableware
We’re also seeing that plant-based eating is no longer a niche choice—it’s becoming a global movement. Beans, whole grains, and veggies are taking center stage, replacing heavily processed foods. That means even the design of a plate, and how food is visually presented, now plays a bigger role: helping families easily build balanced, colorful, and nourishing meals.
On top of that, two other trends are quietly redefining what tableware means today:
First, the rise of sustainable living is encouraging people to move away from disposable and flimsy products.
Second, the rise of “experience culture” and stylish outdoor living (yes, even glamping!) has inspired a desire for tools that combine function with beauty.
All of these shifts are pointing in the same direction: tableware is evolving from a simple eating tool into a reflection of lifestyle. It’s no longer just about what we eat—or even how healthy it is—but also how we eat, and how we bring a meal together in everyday life.
Why did we decide to take "divided + modular" even further?
Because every time we cook or serve a meal, the biggest source of stress is often the same: everything ends up mixed together. Juices run wild, flavors clash—sweet meets salty, crisp turns soggy—and different foods rarely cook perfectly at the same time.
Kids get picky. Grandparents have special dietary needs. And let’s be honest: one flat baking tray just can’t handle the complexity of a modern family meal.

We’ve all had those moments in the kitchen:
“If only I could roast the chicken and veggies separately—one wouldn't come out dry while the other stays undercooked.”
“If I could prep three different flavors in one tray, dinner would be so much faster.”
“If my kid didn’t have to dig through mixed-up food, maybe we could skip the negotiation at the table.”
That desire for structure—that’s what led us to fully embrace the idea of divided and modular design.
As we watched how real families cook and eat, we saw this approach starting to move beyond pro kitchens and nutrition clinics. Divided + modular tableware is making its way into everyday homes, because it’s solving real problems: helping people organize their meals, balance nutrition, and manage ingredients separately without the mess.
It’s not just about convenience—it’s about bringing more confidence and intention into how we eat.
We’ve already seen this idea gaining traction on crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and on marketplaces like Amazon. Several early products have tested the waters, and the response has been strong. The standout example? The wildly popular Cheat Sheets on Kickstarter—a modular baking system that struck a chord with health-conscious home cooks everywhere.

As a modular baking system, Cheat Sheets introduced a simple but powerful idea: use removable silicone dividers to cook multiple ingredients separately on the same sheet pan. The goal? More control, less mess, no overcooked veggies—making home baking easier, cleaner, and way more precise.
This design hit the mark perfectly. It spoke directly to what today’s families are looking for: healthier meals, better portion control, and a smarter way to organize food. It also tapped into a bigger shift in how we think about eating—where how we eat matters just as much as what we eat.
During its early days on Kickstarter, Prepd Cheat Sheets won a ton of support from home cooks and meal preppers alike. It quickly became a breakout star in the emerging category of divided bakeware—and its success proved one big thing:
The idea of “one tray, many uses” clearly struck a chord—it’s something modern kitchens genuinely need.
But when it came time for real-world use, the feedback revealed some structural issues tied to one key material: silicone.
🔧 Warping and shape distortion were common
Many users found that both the silicone dividers and the metal tray underneath tended to warp at standard baking temperatures (around 350–450°F / 175–230°C). This caused leaks, uneven cooking, and trays that felt unstable or just plain awkward to use.
👃 Lingering smells and greasy buildup affected the experience
Because silicone is naturally porous, it tends to soak up strong odors like garlic or fish. After a few uses, some users noticed unpleasant fumes during baking—and a few even said their tray “smelled like soap.” Not exactly appetizing.
🧽 Stickiness and durability didn’t meet expectations
While silicone is often marketed as “nonstick,” in practice, oils can build up over time, forming a greasy film that’s hard to scrub away. Even the dishwasher doesn’t always help. The more you use it, the tougher it gets to clean.
🙃 Too soft for comfort—or safety
Silicone just doesn’t have the structure to hold its shape when hot. It can balloon or collapse during heating, meaning users had to rely on an extra metal tray underneath. Carrying it in and out of the oven felt wobbly and uncertain—not ideal when you’re juggling dinner and a hungry family.
🔥 Low heat conductivity affects how food cooks
Silicone is actually designed to insulate, not conduct heat. That makes it harder to get those crispy, golden-brown edges we all love. Bottoms stay pale or soggy instead of perfectly roasted, and that affects both texture and flavor.

All of this feedback made one thing clear: while the design idea was solid and the need is very real, silicone just isn’t built to handle the high-frequency, long-term demands of everyday kitchen use.
We took a closer look at other best-selling products on Amazon—things like silicone liners, divided air fryer baskets, and disposable paper tray inserts. While they come in all shapes and sizes, they tend to run into the same core issues.
Silicone was a good first attempt to meet this need—but it’s far from the perfect solution.
What we’re seeing now is that families expect more than just a clever design. They want real improvements in material quality, heat resistance, hygiene, and overall user experience.
And we believe this is the key challenge that has to be solved before “divided + modular” tableware can truly become a go-to solution in modern kitchens.
Consumers Are Changing How They Cook—From Ovens to Air Fryers
As air fryers continue to take over kitchens across the country, we’ve seen a big shift in how people are using divided and modular cookware.
More and more families aren’t just using these trays in the oven—they’re popping them right into the air fryer. Why? Because it gives them better control over cooking, keeps different foods neat and separate, and makes cleanup way easier.
It’s all about making everyday meals faster, tidier, and less stressful—especially when you’re cooking for more than one taste at the table.

This shift shows that people want more than just basic tableware—they're looking for tools that can do more and keep up with their busy kitchen routines.
But here’s the catch: most of the popular accessories made for air fryers today still come with some pretty common frustrations—especially when it comes to single-use baking paper and reusable silicone liners.
Disposable Baking Paper: Convenience with Hidden Costs and Risks

It’s no surprise disposable baking paper is so widely used. It’s flexible, doesn’t require washing, and it’s cheap. In the short term, it seems like a win.
But the downsides are becoming harder to ignore:

Families want a material that can truly handle the demands of modern kitchens—high heat, frequent use, multiple appliances—and still perform well when it comes to structure, heat distribution, ease of cleaning, and safety.
And that’s exactly where we saw a turning point in our journey with the divided + modular system.
We realized it was time to stop settling for conventional materials and start asking:
Is there something better—something that works as reliably as professional-grade equipment, but fits the real life rhythm of everyday cooking?
We believe the answer is right in front of us.
Why did we ultimately choose titanium?
When we set out to rethink the material behind our divided + modular system, the real question wasn’t “What do we want to use?”It was “What are we no longer willing to compromise on?”

We’re just not willing to settle anymore—for materials that warp under heat, give off weird smells, or leave behind stubborn, greasy residue.
We’re done with products that seem convenient at first but wear out quickly or end up in the trash after just a few uses.
What we do want is a material that can truly stand the test of time in the kitchen—something reliable, safe, and strong enough for daily use.
And most importantly, something people can trust, enjoy using, and even feel proud to own.
✅ Health-Safe: No Coatings, No Leaching, No Worries
Titanium is safety, plain and simple—no gimmicks or extra coatings needed.
No coatings, no BPA, no PFOA—so there’s zero concern about harmful chemicals at high heat
Naturally stable metal, completely food-safe
No peeling, no flaking, no unwanted “mystery materials” ending up in your meal
🔥 Safe & Durable: No Warping, No Rust, No Compromises
No matter how tough your kitchen gets, titanium doesn’t flinch.
Melts at nearly 1700°C—way beyond anything your oven or air fryer can throw at it
Rust-proof and corrosion-resistant, it stays rock solid for the long haul
Strong but lightweight—easy to handle, yet incredibly sturdy
🧼 Easy to Clean: No Smells, No Gunk, No Fuss
It never smells like last night’s dinner—or the one from three weeks ago.
Smooth, non-porous surface that resists oil and odors
Rinses clean with just water—scrubbing is almost never needed
Won’t stain, discolor, or degrade over time
🎨 Modern Aesthetic: Sleek, Understated, Built to Belong
Great design doesn’t have to shout—it just fits.
Titanium’s soft, low-reflective finish gives it a pro-level look
Never fades, never oxidizes—always looks like new
Fits right in with today’s kitchens, whether you’re cooking indoors, outdoors, or somewhere in between
🎯 Bottom Line: Why Titanium?
